This is the number one complaint among Urban Decay users because like I said, it creates wasted product. Its something like 25% of the product cannot be reached by the applicator.
This primer is not cheap either, so I completely understand how annoying it is that we end up spending more than we need to. It's definitely not easy especially if you are a UDPP addict like me and won't go without it.
I have depot-ted my UDPP and found that it changed the consistency. The product did not keep well and dried out quickly. I personally would not recommend doing this until right before you are about to throw away the bottle as a last ditch effort, then by all means cut away and get every last drop.
OR learn how to Depot Urban Decay Primer Potion without a knife.
BUT....before you go and take the primer out of its perfect environment (aka genie bottle), here's what I recommend you do:
- Remove the ring from the top of the cap with tweezers or small pliers, this allows you to get more of the product out of the bottle. Be gentle or YIKES primer all over the place (yes I have done this too LOL!!)
- Bend the applicator a little more so that you can reach and scoop around the sides of the bottle a little better.
Why won't UD get rid of this bottle?? Because people recognize this brand from the shape of the bottle, even a hundred feet away, you would recognize this bottle.as an Urban Decay product. That is why the company has not changed the bottle. It's great PR and marketing.
Oh yes - they did change the shape of the wand from straight to slightly angled. Does this really help?? I don't know for sure but click here for a tip on how you can make get the most out of your genie bottle and make your UDPP last longer.
